Environmental Photography Collective
Unified by our virulent desire to call attention to climate chaos and demand action, the Environmental Photography Collective is a group of female-identifying artists who rely on community and collaboration to move forward with resiliency and hope. United as a working group in 2020 to share resources and provide critical feedback during the pandemic lockdown, the Collective has since evolved to become a powerful team of cultural producers, with invitations to present their work at the Penn State Studio for Sustainability & Social Action Symposium, The Society for Photographic Education, Women’s Caucus for Art, newARTSpace Gallery, and in the Urbanautica Journal of Visual Anthropology and Cultural Landscapes. Embracing an ecofeminist philosophy, we seek to elevate a diversity of voices over hierarchical dualisms, discard domination for equity, and encourage cooperation as a way to respond to radical individualism.
